Upload any image (PNG, JPG, WebP) and our tool processes it entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. It quantizes the colors and finds the 6 most frequent colors — the dominant palette of your image. Nothing is uploaded to any server; everything stays on your device.
Can I check if extracted colors are accessible?
Yes — each extracted color is automatically tested against white and black backgrounds with WCAG AA pass/fail badges. Green checkmarks mean the color passes AA (4.5:1); red warnings mean it fails. This helps you quickly identify which colors from a reference image would work as text or UI colors.
What types of images work best for color extraction?
Images with clear, distinct color regions work best — logos, UI mockups, branding materials, and photographs with bold color palettes. Busy images with many gradients and subtle shading will produce muddy, averaged colors. For best results, use images that represent the color scheme you want to analyze.
